Not very interesting in these short stories. Thought they were about mysteries. Didn't understand or enjoy them at all. Surprised as I like all of this authors mystery books.
Having read the first three Stanley Bentworth installments, I was curious to see if the author's style of writing would also translate to short stories. Here is a collection of shorts, and as in most collections like these, they are all over the board. Some are very good, others decent, and a few that didn't really do anything for me. The best ones IMO were The Time Manager, the Hostess and the Hacker, and Chubby and Woody. Also liked Self-Defense and the Mulpys. Overall most are worthy, and if you like shorts, this book is recommended. Three-and-a-half stars is more accurate, but I rounded up to four.

Dull, routine and totally predictable
It really was entertaining, although the ending story left not as enthused as most of the rest. Very worth reading.
